Kempten's Allgäuer Festwoche 2026 Showcases Dirndl Fashion Trends and Visitor Transport Plans

The 75th Allgäuer Festwoche will take place in Kempten, Germany, from 7 to 16 August 2026. Organisers highlight traditional attire, noting that Dirndl styles are shifting toward timeless elegance, longer midi‑ and maxi‑length skirts, muted tones such as sage, olive and butter yellow, and natural fabrics like linen, jacquard and velvet. Blouses with puff, balloon or wing sleeves and tonal‑in‑tone colour combinations are in vogue, while very short skirts and bright, contrasting colours have fallen out of favour.

To accommodate the expected influx of visitors, the city recommends using public transport. Park‑and‑ride facilities are available at the Eisstadion, the "Ignaz Kiechle" highway exit and the main station, with shuttle buses linking these sites to the festival grounds. Regular city buses run every five minutes on weekdays, and additional night‑bus services operate throughout the festival week. All services use the standard mona‑tarif, though the summer‑Ferienpass is not accepted on night buses.
