Bill Kinlay, who led WPP Media in Ireland for 27 years, announced he will leave the role at the end of August after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease. In a statement he reflected on his 39‑year career with the company, noting his involvement in launching the Mindshare brand globally in 1997 and establishing it in Ireland in 1999.
Ken Nolan, the group’s chief operating officer of agency brands and a long‑time WPP executive, will assume the position of interim chief executive of WPP Media Ireland from the start of September. Michael Karg, EMEA CEO of WPP Media, praised Kinlay’s contribution, calling him an influential figure who built lasting client partnerships and a culture of ambition and innovation.
