Ken-O Expressway section to open in Chiba on November 7
A new 9.1 km section of the C4 Metropolitan Inter-City Expressway (Ken-O Expressway) is scheduled to open on November 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The new segment connects Daiei Junction in Narita City to the Tako Interchange in Tako Town, Chiba Prefecture.
Developed by NEXCO East Japan and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the section will initially feature two provisional lanes. The opening is expected to improve logistics efficiency, reducing travel time from Daiei Junction to the new Narita City Public Wholesale Market by approximately 7 minutes, and from Asahi City to the same market by about 6 minutes.
Future expansions between Tako IC and Matsuo Yokoshiba IC are planned to further enhance regional connectivity. Once the entire line is completed, travel time from Sanmu City to the Narita market is projected to decrease by approximately 26 minutes.
