Kenae Dolphus seeks alternative surgery after ‘My 600-lb Life’ appearance

Kenae Dolphus, a participant in the reality show ‘My 600-lb Life’, is continuing her battle with morbid obesity after being unable to undergo bariatric surgery during her initial treatment. Reaching a weight of 279 kg (approximately 615 lbs), Dolphus relied heavily on her family for daily tasks due to limited mobility.

During her time on the program under the care of Dr. Now, she lost 60 kg through strict dieting and exercise. However, health complications prevented her from proceeding with the surgery. Dolphus has since undergone three years of cardiological treatment to prepare her body for the procedure.

In 2025, she launched an online crowdfunding campaign to fund an alternative, more expensive surgical procedure, noting that local hospitals lacked the necessary accommodations for patients of her size. Recent social media updates indicate she has continued to lose weight and is working toward regaining her independence.
