Kendal Grey manages ear injury ahead of NXT Heatwave title defense

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey has revealed she is dealing with an ongoing ear injury ahead of her title defense at NXT Heatwave. The injury occurred during a recent match against Lola Vice, when Grey collided with the ring steps, resulting in bleeding from her ear. Grey noted that she is experiencing ear ringing and balance issues, though she is undergoing rehabilitation to recover.

Despite these physical challenges, Grey stated her priority is defending her championship against Kelani Jordan on August 30, 2026, at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas. She expressed awareness that her injury could be a target for her opponent.

In addition to discussing her health, Grey credited NXT Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair for her professional development. Grey noted that Sinclair helped her overcome shyness and allowed her to bring her true personality to her performances.
