Kendal Regency distributes social assistance to farmers and vulnerable residents

The Kendal Regency Government has implemented several social protection initiatives to support vulnerable residents. Bupati Dyah Kartika Permanasari recently distributed a death benefit (JKM) of Rp42 million from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to the heirs of Sukamat, a tobacco farmer from Kaliyoso Village. This benefit was funded through the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT), a program designed to provide social security for tobacco farmers and clove workers in lower income deciles.

Additionally, the local government is distributing aid through the Kartu Jateng Ngopeni (KaJeN) program. In 2026, approximately 480 beneficiaries in Kendal Regency are slated to receive assistance. The program targets various vulnerable groups, including the elderly, people with disabilities, individuals with mental health disorders, and those with chronic illnesses. Recent distributions covered residents in Cepiring, Karangayu, Pegulon, and Kalibuntu Wetan.
