Kendari experiences eight land fires in a single day

Eight separate land fires occurred across various locations in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The fires were spread across five sub-districts, including Lepo-lepo, Anduonohu, Wundudopi, Mokoau, and Kemaraya.

According to Damkarmat Kendari spokesperson Martoyo Awaluddin, the recorded burned area reached approximately 2 hectares and 160 square meters. However, the total exact area remains uncertain as measurements for several locations in Anduonohu have not yet been finalized. No casualties were reported, and firefighting teams from multiple posts successfully managed all incidents.
