Kendari police detain 68 students to prevent brawl

Police in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, detained 68 students from various schools on Sunday, October 25, 2026, following reports of a planned brawl. The intervention was prompted by a community report made through the police Call Center 110 service.

Officers from the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Pioneer Patrol Team and the Kendari Police Station intercepted the group at a traffic light intersection on Jalan Sao-Sao in the Bende area. During the operation, authorities seized several items, including two comb-machetes, two sharpened nails, a slingshot, three crossbow bolts, and 20 motorcycles.

The students and the confiscated evidence were transported to the Kendari Police Station for further investigation and data collection. Police are currently investigating the motives behind the planned clash and the ownership of the weapons.
