Kendo tournaments held in Hokkaido

Various kendo tournaments were held in Hokkaido, featuring participants ranging from elementary students to adults.

The 65th Donan Kendo Tournament took place in Muroran at the Kuribayashi Shokai Arena. The event hosted 560 practitioners from 113 teams across the region, including participants from Sapporo, Hakodate, and Kushiro. Competitions were held across five categories: lower elementary, upper elementary, junior high, high school, and general divisions. In the lower elementary division, Numano-hana Kenrin Dojo from Tomakomai secured victory in a closely contested final against Taihei Minami Kenyukai from Sapporo.

Separately, the 47th Tokachi High School Kendo Championship was held at the Obihiro Kashiwa High School Gymnasium. In the boys' team competition, Obihiro Nanasho emerged victorious. In the girls' team competition, Obihiro Sanjo took first place. Individual winners included Takanori Uchino for the boys and Ai Miyanoshita for the girls.
