Kenichiro Yamazaki's New Presbyopia Treatment Book Releases in Japan on Aug 3 2026

Japanese ophthalmologist Dr Kenichiro Yamazaki, director of Omiya Nanri Eye Clinic, will publish the sequel to his bestseller “Life‑Changing Cataract Surgery.” The new volume, titled “Life‑Changing Presbyopia Treatment,” is scheduled for nationwide release on 3 August 2026 by publisher Gentosha.

The 410‑page guide explains presbyopia’s causes, differentiates it from cataract, and details modern interventions such as multifocal intra‑ocular lenses and femtosecond‑laser surgery. It aims to give the roughly 40 million Japanese adults with presbyopia a medically grounded alternative to glasses or contacts. Yamazaki’s credentials include pioneering Japan’s first femtosecond‑laser cataract operation and performing over 5,900 multifocal lens and 5,740 laser procedures, making him a leading authority in the field.

The book follows his 2017 bestseller, which sold more than 50,000 copies and topped several retail rankings, and seeks to empower readers to choose appropriate treatment options.
