Kenko Festival celebrates geek culture in São Paulo

The fifth edition of the Kenko Festival took place in São Paulo at the Universidade São Judas (Mooca unit) from August 7 to 9. Moving away from traditional large-scale convention formats, the event featured a decentralized layout with various activities spread throughout the venue, including games, anime, cosplay, dubbing, music, tokusatsu, and karaoke.

A major highlight of the festival occurred on Saturday, when the main stage hosted a panel featuring Manolo Rey, Sérgio Cantú, and Wirley Contaifer. These professionals are the Brazilian voice actors for the three different versions of Spider-Man (played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland). The session allowed fans to hear behind-the-scenes stories and curiosities regarding their work on the character, particularly in relation to the film ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.
