Kennebunk football and Skowhegan field hockey named Varsity Maine Teams of the Week

Varsity Maine has named Kennebunk football and Skowhegan field hockey as the state’s Varsity Teams of the Week.

Kennebunk football secured a 33-28 victory against Falmouth following a last-minute defensive stand. Linebacker Tyler Samson sealed the win with an interception on a 6-yard line slant route with 25 seconds remaining. Ethan White contributed 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns during the game.

Skowhegan field hockey earned recognition after starting its season with two significant wins. The team, playing its first games without longtime coach Paula Doughty, defeated Oxford Hills 7-0 and Mt. Blue 5-0. Key performances included three goals and two assists from Kaitlyn Dufour, alongside contributions from Faith Pease and Charlotte Ha.
