Kennedy Martin Joins AVCA Women's Player of the Year Watch List

Penn State senior outside hitter Kennedy Martin has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Women’s Volleyball National Player of the Year watch list for the third consecutive season. She is one of 30 players selected, including 10 from Big Ten schools.

Martin, a two‑time semifinalist, enters the 2026 season with 1,638 career kills and a season‑high 634 kills in 2025. She led the nation with 6.28 points per set as a sophomore and ranked second with 6.22 points per set the following year. Her accolades also include three All‑American selections, two Academic All‑American honors and three all‑region and all‑conference recognitions earned across the SEC and Big Ten.

Penn State’s women’s volleyball program has had at least one player on the AVCA preseason watch list every year since its inception in 2024.
