Kennedy-Nixon debate and San Cleofa mark September 25

September 25 marks several historical and cultural milestones. In media history, it commemorates the 1960 broadcast of the first major televised presidential debate between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, an event that fundamentally altered political campaigning.

In religious tradition, the day honors San Cleofa, one of the disciples on the road to Emmaus described in the Gospel of Luke. The narrative focuses on the recognition of the risen Christ during a shared meal.

Additionally, the date marks the birthday of Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
