Kennedy wedding anniversary marked by Newport church and San Ysidro Ranch

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newport, Rhode Island, is hosting a “Return to Camelot” presentation on September 12 to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the wedding of Jacqueline Bouvier and Senator John F. Kennedy. The program features vintage film from the 1953 ceremony, live organ music, and hymns from the wedding day. Visitors can view the specific pew where the couple sat and the kneelers used during their nuptial Mass.

The Kennedy wedding in 1953 was followed by a honeymoon that included a stay at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The ranch maintains a Kennedy Cottage, a 2,700-square-foot residence where the couple stayed. The property continues to offer experiences inspired by the era, including midcentury activities such as croquet and sailing.
