Kennel Club study finds dog photos boost dating profile appeal
A study conducted by the Kennel Club in the United Kingdom suggests that individuals using profile pictures featuring their dogs may have a higher chance of finding romantic partners on dating applications.
The research, commissioned by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, indicates that users find profiles with dogs more attractive. Experts suggest this trend is linked to perceived personality traits; pet owners are often viewed as more sociable, active, and empathetic. Researcher Helen Fisher noted that “having a dog reveals many aspects of someone’s personality,” as the ability to care for another living being is often associated with reliability.
