Kennesaw State Professor Erik Malewski Receives National Curriculum & Pedagogy Lifetime Award
Erik Malewski, a professor of curriculum studies at Kennesaw State University’s Bagwell College of Education, was selected to receive the Curriculum & Pedagogy Group Lifetime Award. The national honor recognizes scholars whose careers have made lasting contributions to curriculum and pedagogy through scholarship, mentorship, and leadership. The award will be presented in October at the group’s national conference. Dean Eric Moyen praised Malewski’s work, noting his research on study‑abroad programs for teacher preparation and his recent focus on epistemologies of ignorance. Malewski’s scholarship also includes co‑editing the Routledge International Handbook of Ignorance Studies in Education and a special issue of the journal Curriculum Inquiry. He holds a doctorate from Pennsylvania State University and previously taught at Purdue University, while serving in leadership roles within professional education organizations.
