Kalamata FC secures historic 3-1 victory over PAOK at Toumba

Kalamata FC achieved a historic 3-1 victory against PAOK at Toumba Stadium during the 6th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League. This win marks Kalamata’s first away victory in the league in 25 years and their first win against PAOK after 14 unsuccessful attempts.

Costa Rican winger Kenneth Vargas was the standout performer, scoring two goals. Vargas, who joined Kalamata on loan from Hearts, has now scored five goals in three matches since returning to the lineup after a muscle injury.

The result ends a 20-month unbeaten home streak for PAOK and marks the first time a team outside the ‘Big-5’ has scored three goals and won at Toumba in nearly a decade. The victory is particularly significant for Kalamata as it serves as a form of sporting redemption following a 7-1 defeat at the same stadium in 2001.
