The announcement followed an accidental social media post involving a medical appointment, which Dalglish addressed with humor, stating, “As my involuntary social media post indicated, I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer.” He noted that while the treatment is going well, he had originally intended to keep the matter private and requested respect for his family’s privacy.

Dalglish recently made a public appearance at Celtic Park during a match where Celtic secured a 3-0 victory over Aberdeen. During his return, he expressed deep gratitude to Celtic FC, stating, “I’d be nothing without Celtic FC.
