Police arrest suspect in violent robbery of Kenny Grullón
Police have arrested Yefry Manuel Jiménez, known as “Babo,” in Haina for the violent robbery of Dominican actor and comedian Kenny Grullón. The incident occurred at Grullón’s residence in the Zona Universitaria, Distrito Nacional, after the suspect entered through a rear door.
During the assault, the suspect allegedly threatened Grullón with a sharp object, gagged him, and stole an iPhone 13 Pro Max, a gold ring, and cash. Authorities recovered the stolen phone and the wedding ring during the operation. Grullón and his family, including his wife Ana Rossina Troncoso, were reported to be physically safe despite the traumatic nature of the event.
Jiménez has a significant criminal record, including over ten previous incidents involving domestic violence, threats, and robberies in Haina, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo, and the Distrito Nacional. He has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for legal proceedings.
