Kenny Morolong leads government communication engagement in Eastern Cape
Deputy Minister in the Presidency Kenny Morolong led an engagement with the Eastern Cape Provincial Executive Council in East London to discuss the implementation of the Government Communication Policy. Accompanied by delegates from the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA), and Brand South Africa (Brand SA), the session focused on coordinating government communication, strengthening nation branding, and boosting support for community media within the province.
Morolong described the policy as a strategic enabler designed to promote transparency, accountability, and social cohesion while aligning with the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) 2025. The engagement in the Eastern Cape follows similar sessions conducted in the North West, Free State, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. The Deputy Minister indicated that an implementation plan for the policy will be presented to the Cabinet following these provincial discussions.
