Kenshi Yonezu reaches 200 million YouTube views for ‘Shunrai’

Japanese artist Kenshi Yonezu has reached a new milestone as the music video for his song ‘Shunrai’ surpassed 200 million views on YouTube on September 4. The achievement came 8 years and 273 days after the video's initial release on December 5, 2017.

This milestone marks Yonezu's 13th title to exceed 200 million views on the platform, setting a new personal record for the artist. The song was originally featured on his 2017 album ‘BOOTLEG’ and explores the contrasting emotions of love through the motifs of ‘spring’ and ‘thunder.’

The music video, which features floral graphics by contemporary artist Houxo Que, was originally released to commemorate Yonezu reaching one million followers on both X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube simultaneously.
