Kenshi Yonezu to perform theme song for The Apothecary Diaries movie

Kenshi Yonezu The Apothecary Diaries Japanese animation Haru ga Tomori Natsu Hyuga

Musician Kenshi Yonezu has written the original theme song ‘Haru ga Tomori’ for the upcoming film ‘The Apothecary Diaries: The Secret of the Deceased Consort’ (Gekijoban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouhi no Hiho). The movie is scheduled for a nationwide release in Japan on December 11, 2026.

Yonezu noted that his composition was influenced by Japanese nursery rhymes such as ‘Tulip’ and ‘Antagata Dokosa.’ The film, based on the light novel series by Natsu Hyuga, follows the protagonist Maomao as she investigates a mystery involving a deceased consort and hidden treasures in a water city.

Additional details for the film release include a complete preview screening on December 5, 2026, featuring voice actors Aoi Yuki and Toshio Otsuka. Promotional efforts also include the release of a novelization by the original author and a manga adaptation starting in December 2026.
