Kensington boutique ordered to pay £100,000 fine for selling counterfeit luxury goods

The former Gorgeous Boutique, located on Kensington Church Street in London, has been ordered to pay more than £100,000 for selling counterfeit luxury goods. Following an investigation by the Kensington and Chelsea Council and raids conducted alongside trademark representatives, officers discovered a variety of fake handbags, accessories, jackets, and coats from brands including Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton.

Many of the counterfeit items were sold at prices close to their genuine retail counterparts. The estimated retail value of the authentic versions of the seized goods was approximately £124,000.

At Southwark Crown Court, the boutique was ordered to pay a total of £110,000, which comprises a £15,000 fine, £26,000 in legal costs, and a £2,000 victim surcharge. Additionally, a confiscation order of £67,000 was issued under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
