Kent and Covington Chambers to host Candidate Showcase

The Kent Chamber of Commerce and the Covington Chamber of Commerce will co-host a Candidate Showcase on October 6 at Green River College at Kent Station. The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. and is free to the public.

Ten candidates running for the 5th, 33rd, and 47th legislative districts on the November 3 ballot are expected to participate. Moving away from traditional debate formats, the showcase will utilize a quiz-style game show format to allow voters to learn about candidates' positions on issues affecting local businesses, families, and communities.

The event will be moderated by Carmen Goers of the Kent Chamber and Rod Meyers of the Covington Chamber. Sponsorship is provided by the 47th District Democrats, the 47th District GOP, and the Libertarian Party of Washington state.
