Kent Lokantaları projects mark two years of social service in Turkey
Municipal 'Kent Lokantaları' (City Restaurants) projects in Denizli and Eskişehir are celebrating their second anniversary, marking significant milestones in social municipalism and community support.
In Denizli, the project has reached 608,103 people across five branches. Operating five days a week, the restaurants provide a four-course meal for 80 TL, a price maintained despite rising costs. The initiative focuses on providing healthy, affordable food while promoting social inclusion through the employment of women and individuals with Down syndrome.
In Eskişehir, the project has served 534,276 meals over two years. A key feature of the Eskişehir branches is the ‘Askıda Yemek’ (Suspended Meal) solidarity program, which has allowed citizens to donate 123,023 meals for those in need. This means approximately one in four meals served in Eskişehir is provided through community donations. The project currently operates at two locations, including a branch that also offers cafe services.
