Kent man charged after fatal collision with cyclists

Aaron Turner, 22, has been charged following a collision in Cobham, Kent, that killed two cyclists. Turner faces two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, and possession of a class C drug.

The incident occurred on a Sunday morning on Sole Street near the junction with Round Street when a white Ford Focus struck three cyclists. The victims were identified as Stephen Anscombe, 60, and Natasha Lewis, 51. A third cyclist sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

In connection with the investigation, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and a 19-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender; both have been released on bail. Turner appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court and was granted bail.
