Kentaro Sakaguchi discusses volleyball past and attends new drama premiere

Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi recently appeared on the program ‘Nonstop!’ to discuss his background as a competitive volleyball player during middle and high school. Sakaguchi, who played the outside hitter position, shared that he once competed against Masahiro Yanagida, the former captain of the Japan national team.

Sakaguchi described his high school years as a captain of a powerhouse volleyball team, noting his physical approach to the game and his efforts to lead his teammates. He also shared lighter anecdotes about his personality during training camps.

In professional news, Sakaguchi attended the world premiere of his new drama ‘kiDnap GAME’ at Fuji TV alongside South Korean actor Lee Joon-gi. The event drew significant attention from fans ahead of the series' launch on October 6. This comes following recent media reports regarding his private life; however, his agency has denied allegations of violence following reports of a domestic dispute, stating that Sakaguchi is ‘an extremely mild-mannered person’ and that no violence occurred.
