Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's new Philadelphia penthouse struck by lightning

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, a new signee for the Philadelphia 76ers, experienced a freak incident at his new Philadelphia penthouse. According to his wife, McKenzie Caldwell-Pope, the building's roof was struck by lightning shortly after she signed the lease and the family began moving in.

The lightning strike caused significant flooding, with water pouring through the ceiling and accumulating several inches deep in the 14th-floor unit. McKenzie reported that the elevators malfunctioned, forcing the family to descend 14 floors on foot to reach safety. She noted that while building staff initially suggested the water was caused by tripped sprinklers, the severity of the flooding was much greater.

Caldwell-Pope joined the 76ers on a one-year, $3.9 million contract as he prepares for his 14th NBA season. This move marks the seventh franchise the veteran guard has played for since entering the league in 2013.
