Kento Nakashima stars in Netflix's new series S and X debuting Aug 20

Netflix released its first trailer and key art for the upcoming Japanese drama series S and X, scheduled for worldwide streaming on August 20. The series stars Kento Nakashima as Shimochiri Ichito, a psychiatrist‑sex therapist who helps clients confront a range of sexual concerns, from erectile dysfunction to trauma. Based on Motoharu Tada’s manga S and X ～Therapist Shimotori Ichito’s Confession～, the show aims to present a human‑focused love story that directly addresses intimate issues.

The announcement highlights a supporting cast that includes Yuko Araki as Ichito’s first love, along with a mix of veteran actors portraying patients and colleagues. Netflix’s August 2026 lineup also features the final season of Outerbanks, a new season of the reality romance show Love Above‑All, and a slate of anime, thrillers, and documentaries, but S and X is the primary focus of the recent promotional material.
