Kentucky athletic coaches discuss team physicality and progress

Kentucky University athletic programs are preparing for upcoming seasons. In football, offensive line coach Cutter Leftwich reported progress during fall camp. Leftwich noted that the unit has shown increased physicality since beginning pad work and highlighted the mental sharpness and strong off-field connections among the players. He identified center Coleton Price as a key leader for the group.

In basketball, head coach Mark Pope expressed concerns regarding the team's physical presence. While describing the roster as long, fast, and skilled, Pope noted that the team may struggle against the increasing size and brute strength found in modern college basketball. He emphasized that the team's togetherness will need to translate into toughness to overcome these physical challenges.
