Kentucky Attorney General sues Mayday Health over abortion pill ads

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman has filed a civil lawsuit against Mayday Health, a New York-based activist organization, for allegedly violating state laws through advertising mail-order abortion pills. The lawsuit, filed in Logan Circuit Court, claims the group violated the Kentucky Consumer Protection Act.

The legal action follows incidents where Mayday Health used an airplane to fly a banner reading ‘Abortion Pills By Mail’ over the Kentucky State Fair and placed advertisements at gas stations across Western Kentucky. While Mayday Health does not distribute the drugs directly, it directs individuals to outside providers via telehealth and mail-forwarding services to bypass state restrictions.

Kentucky law, established in 2022, prohibits the mailing or delivery of abortion-inducing drugs within the state. Coleman stated that the organization’s actions represent a brazen attempt by out-of-state activists to interfere with state law and local values.
