Kentucky couple charged in death of one-year-old boy

A Kentucky couple faces charges following the death of a one-year-old boy due to extreme neglect and abuse. Deavan Williams, 22, has been charged with wanton murder and first-degree child abuse. Alexandrae Price, 22, the child's mother, has been charged with child abuse.

According to arrest warrants, the child died on July 27 with suspicious trauma, including body bruising and mouth bleeding. Williams reportedly told investigators that he fell asleep while supervising the child, who then choked after consuming portions of a feces-contaminated diaper.

Authorities state the child was forced to live in a basement and an un-air-conditioned garage filled with flies, spiders, trash, beer cans, soiled diapers, and heavy cat urine. The infant’s playpen was reportedly placed directly on a contaminated floor. Williams allegedly admitted to being the primary caregiver and noted the presence of pathogens and parasites in the living environment. Price reportedly admitted the living area contained flies and spiders and stated she frequently left the child in Williams' care while she went to work.
