Kentucky Fish and Wildlife opens fall quota hunt applications

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has opened applications for its annual fall quota hunts. Both resident and nonresident hunters can apply for opportunities involving deer, waterfowl, pheasants, and sandhill cranes.

Applications must be submitted through the MyProfile online portal by midnight (CT) on Wednesday, Sept. 30. A minimum fee of $3 per application is required, and applications are not accepted via telephone. Results from the randomized drawings will be posted online by Oct. 9, 2026.

The program includes 38 deer quota hunts at various state parks and wildlife management areas, waterfowl hunts at five public land locations, and pheasant hunts at three wildlife management areas. Special provisions are available, including mentored hunts for youth and hunts specifically for mobility-impaired individuals. To manage harvests and ensure quality, nonresidents are limited to a maximum of 10 percent of each deer quota hunt pool.
