Kentucky Fish and Wildlife welcomes Class 31 of game warden recruits
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement Division has welcomed Class 31 of its game warden recruits. The nine selected individuals were chosen from a pool of 1,179 applicants.
This group marks the first class to complete their entire academy training at the new, permanent Game Warden Recruit Academy located at Green River Lake near Campbellsville, Kentucky. The facility is leased from Kentucky State Parks.
The training process includes a 14-week Game Warden Recruit Academy followed by a 20-week program at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy in Richmond, Kentucky. Upon completion, recruits will undergo 12 weeks of field training alongside experienced wardens before beginning independent duties.
