Kentucky football achieves historic 6-1 start under Will Stein
Kentucky football head coach Will Stein has led the Wildcats to a 6-1 start, marking the program’s first bowl-eligible season since 2023. The team currently sits at #15 in the AP Poll following significant victories over Texas A&M, LSU, and Oklahoma.
Key to this success has been the team’s turnover margin. Kentucky holds a plus-11 margin, the best in the SEC and fourth in the FBS. During the 21-13 road win against Oklahoma, the defense forced four turnovers while the offense committed none.
Stein’s contract includes various financial incentives tied to the team’s performance. He is eligible for a $100,000 bonus for reaching seven wins and additional bonuses for wins between eight and eleven. Further incentives are structured for SEC Championship appearances, College Football Playoff participation, and individual coaching awards.
