Kentucky football GM Pat Biondo resigns for personal reasons

Pat Biondo announced Tuesday that he is stepping down as the University of Kentucky's football general manager after only seven months in the role. He said the decision is personal and asked for privacy. The university issued a statement respecting his choice and thanking him for his contributions.

Biondo was hired by head coach Will Stein in December 2022 after serving as the Oregon Ducks' director of recruiting strategy. His exit comes just before the Wildcats' fall camp and the start of the 2026 season, leaving the program without a key staff member. Kentucky has not yet announced a replacement. During his brief tenure, Kentucky compiled an eighth‑best national transfer‑portal class and the fourth‑best in the SEC.
