Kentucky football moves two future games to season openers

The University of Kentucky has adjusted its future football schedule, moving two non-conference games against FCS opponents to the start of the season.

Following an NCAA decision to implement a uniform 14-week regular season beginning in fall 2027, the Wildcats will now host the Murray State Racers on August 28, 2027, instead of September 18, 2027. Additionally, a matchup against Eastern Illinois, originally scheduled for September 30, 2028, has been moved to the season opener on August 26, 2028. Both games will be played at Kroger Field in Lexington.
