Kentucky State Penitentiary employee arrested on rape and sodomy charges

Raven West, a 23‑year‑old Corrections Recreation Leader at the Kentucky State Penitentiary, was arrested after the prison reported that she had a sexual relationship with an inmate. Kentucky State Police opened an investigation and charged West with two counts of third‑degree rape, one count of third‑degree sodomy, and one count of first‑degree official misconduct. She was taken to the Crittenden County Jail and resigned from the Department of Corrections, which barred her from future employment within the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. The investigation remains ongoing.
