Kentucky Wildcats projected in preseason Top 25

The Kentucky Wildcats have been projected to enter the 2026-27 college basketball season ranked No. 19 in a preseason AP Top 25 prediction by James Fletcher III of On3. The ranking is based on various analytics and models.

Analysts noted that Kentucky possesses significant frontcourt talent, bolstered by the return of Malachi Moreno and the addition of Milan Momcilovic via the transfer portal. This depth is expected to support the skill sets of the incoming guards recruited by Mark Pope. However, questions remain regarding the team's offensive identity, specifically whether the roster has a definitive perimeter player capable of self-creation when needed.
