Kenya Airways seeks strategic investor by end of 2026
Kenya Airways (KQ) aims to secure a strategic investor by the end of 2026 to recapitalize the airline as part of a broader turnaround strategy. The Kenyan Treasury confirmed it is working with the carrier to find an investor capable of injecting capital to help the airline overcome significant financial headwinds and debt burdens.
The airline's management previously indicated a goal to raise at least $1.5 billion through an international tender process. The government, which maintains a 48.9 percent stake in the airline, is seeking to stabilize and grow operations to move away from a history of taxpayer-funded bailouts.
