Kenya Airways targets 100‑aircraft fleet by 2035

Kenya Airways announced a long‑term expansion plan that aims to increase its fleet from the current 32 aircraft to 67 by 2030 and reach 100 aircraft by 2035. The strategy, unveiled at the airline’s annual travel‑agency awards in Nairobi, follows the recent return of its Boeing 777‑300ER on the Nairobi‑London route and a year of work to resolve maintenance backlogs and supply‑chain disruptions. The carrier projects passenger traffic to rise from about 5.2 million to roughly 9 million by the end of the decade, leveraging expected growth in African air travel. The additional aircraft are intended to support new routes, higher flight frequencies and to strengthen Nairobi’s role as a major hub for the continent.
