Egypt wins 2026 Women’s African Volleyball Championship
Egypt claimed the 2026 Women’s African Volleyball Championship title after defeating Kenya in straight sets (21-25, 15-25, 15-25) at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi.
By winning the continental crown, Egypt secured a direct qualification pathway to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The defeat was a setback for the host nation, Kenya’s Malkia Strikers, who missed out on direct Olympic qualification but successfully earned a place at the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship.
In the earlier stages of the tournament, Kenya advanced to the final by defeating Cameroon 3-0 in the semifinals. Cameroon subsequently secured the bronze medal by defeating Rwanda 3-0 in the third-place playoff. The three medal-winning teams—Egypt, Kenya, and Cameroon—have all secured qualification for the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship.
