Kenya Defence Forces hold Family Day for troops in Somalia

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) held Family Day celebrations in Kismayo and Dhobley. The events were designed to foster fellowship and strengthen the bonds between personnel serving away from home.

In Kismayo, the celebration took place at St Michael Catholic Church and was attended by Deputy Sector 2 Commander Colonel Daniel Musau. The gathering included sermons focused on faith and togetherness, allowing troops to step away from operational duties to reflect on mutual support.

A similar event was held at St Michael Catholic Church in Dhobley for troops and civilian staff from the Dhobley Main Operating Base. This celebration was led by Colonel Paul Nalimo, the Commander of the Dhobley Main Operating Base, and included a shared luncheon to promote unity and camaraderie among the deployed personnel.
