Kenya intensifies security operations in Samburu and Isiolo

The Kenyan government has intensified security operations in Samburu and Isiolo counties to combat banditry. Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen stated that the operations target individuals suspected of possessing illegal firearms and those involved in attacks against civilians, security officers, and livestock.

Murkomen reported that security agencies have recovered over 3,000 illegal firearms and 8,000 rounds of ammunition in the wider Kerio Valley region. While emphasizing the need to decisively deal with armed attackers, the Cabinet Secretary urged security forces to exercise maximum caution to minimize collateral damage to residents and livestock.
