Kenya’s Ministry of Defence is advancing strategic defence cooperation through international agreements aimed at enhancing national security and bilateral relations. Principal Secretary for Defence Dr. Patrick Mariru recently appeared before the National Assembly’s Defence and Foreign Relations Committee to discuss the ratification of various defence cooperation agreements and frameworks with partner countries.
These agreements are designed to foster collaboration in areas such as capacity building, professional development, technical cooperation, and information sharing to address emerging security challenges. The Ministry emphasized the importance of parliamentary oversight to ensure these international engagements remain transparent and consistent with Kenya’s constitution, laws, and foreign policy priorities.
