Kenya Navy hosts annual Inter-Units Taekwondo Tournament

The Kenya Navy held its annual Inter-Units Taekwondo Tournament at the Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe. Athletes from various units and formations competed across multiple weight categories, including Finweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, and Heavyweight divisions for both men and women.

Brigadier Mohamed Shemote, Commander of the Kenya Navy Fleet, presided over the event. He highlighted the strategic importance of martial arts in enhancing physical conditioning, agility, and mental resilience. Shemote noted that the discipline required for Taekwondo supports the professionalism and operational readiness expected of sailors.

The tournament served as a selection platform to identify top athletes to represent the Kenya Navy in the upcoming Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) Challenge Cup.
