Kenya political landscape shifts ahead of 2027 elections

Political shifts are intensifying in Kenya ahead of the 2027 General Election as leaders within and outside the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) signal significant realignments. Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has announced plans to launch a new political party in the Nyanza region. They emphasized that any politician moving from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to the ODM must compete through standard party primaries.
