Kenya probes stabbing deaths in Nairobi, Migori, Nyamira

Police in Kenya are investigating several fatal stabbing incidents. In Kasarani, Nairobi County, a 73‑year‑old man, Jackson Mwangi Ndirangu, was stabbed to death on 15 May 2026 after a dispute over a food bill at a local hotel. The suspect, also 73, is still being sought and the murder weapon has not been recovered.

In Nyamira North Sub‑County, a 16‑year‑old girl from Mongori High School was stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife while escorting relatives after her grandfather’s burial. The attack occurred around 04:00 on 14 May 2026; the suspect, known only as “Junior” and believed to be her boyfriend, fled and remains at large. Both cases are being handled by the respective police units and await post‑mortem examinations.

Separately, police in Migori County are probing a mob‑justice incident in Kuria West where a man was abducted, bound and partially burned, with another victim rescued but severely injured. Investigations are ongoing in all locations.
