Kenya School of Flying aircraft crash kills instructor and student
A flight instructor and a student have died following an aircraft crash in Kipeto, Kajiado West. The aircraft, operated by the Kenya School of Flying, was conducting a training exercise when the accident occurred.
Kajiado West Police Commander Maureen Kuto reported that the student died at the scene, while the instructor succumbed to injuries while being transported to Kajiado Referral Hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that poor visibility caused by heavy morning mist and weather conditions may have contributed to the accident. The pilot reportedly attempted a crash landing after encountering the mist, but the aircraft was extensively damaged.
Police have launched an investigation and called in aviation experts to examine the wreckage and establish the exact circumstances of the crash. The bodies of the victims have been moved to a mortuary pending further procedures.
